Every year on the 15th of May, the votive fete of Sainte-Maxime is celebrated. After the Provencale mass, the bust of the Saint is taken out of the church by four members of the "bravade" corps, and carried in a procession through the streets of the town decorated with blue and white flags, the colours of the town.

Sainte-Maxime is escorted by the "bravadeurs" armed with their sabres and blunderbusses, followed by religious and civil personalities, the "Lei Magnoti" country dance group and the town population.

The cortege stops in front of each wayside altar which have been installed with devotion by local inhabitants. Various manifestations take place on that day including an ancient sacred dance.

The ceremony begins on May 14th with the blessing of the weapons in front of the church. Whatever the weather, even if it rains or snows, the procession always takes place.
